From the First Steps team that returned from North Korea on July 26, we know that extreme food shortages have already increased the vulnerability of children to sickness and disease. Please pray and help as you are able so that we can send additional supplies to help children who have been struggling for more than 6 months on drastically reduced rations. And please know that your support is touching and changing the lives of children in tangible ways.

On August 6 (Saturday) First Steps received the following email message from a representative of the government of the DPRK (North Korea) in New York.
“As we talked briefly on the phone and you are well aware, there has been another flooding in several parts of my country causing a lot of damage and some loss of human life. Yet another torrential rain is anticipated to visit in coming days according to weather forecast. There is ever more growing demand for food on the ground. Provision of emergency food along with nutritional foodstuff, tent, medicine, oil, etc is needed for the victims of the flooding. I hope FS will take into account the current situation of my country caused by recent flooding and consider possible humanitarian action.”
