First Steps is a Christian humanitarian organization whose purpose is to prevent child malnutrition in the DPRK (North Korea) through programs which provide essential nutrients to young children. First Steps’ involvement began in 2001 by providing Pablum to 400 children and our VitaCow/VitaGoat program has since grown to daily provide soymilk to more than 80,000 children. In the short term we are addressing malnutrition and hunger by providing supplemental nutrition. In the long term we are providing training and equipment to ensure self-sufficiency and to help build up communities.
