Matching Gifts Challenge

The challenge has been made – the third annual First Steps’ Matching Challenge, that is.
A stalwart supporter from Saskatchewan suggested the idea of a matching fund a few years back to “let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to do good works.” Then another faithful donor, also from Saskatchewan, joined him by providing a second gift of $10,000. Well, the short story is that it was a huge success. It was the same last year when the prairie team raised the bar to $25,000.

And that brings us to this year’s challenge, which has doubled to $50,000 as our Saskatchewan donors have been joined by the Eminata Group, a Vancouver-based education provider that has generously contributed another $20,000 to the matching challenge. So, there you have it, the official 2009 First Steps’ Matching Challenge is $50,000. If we can raise that amount by December 31, 2009 the First Steps’ Matching fund will match every contribution, dollar-for-dollar, doubling the value of each gift! Just mark your donation to be added to the total matching fund – and let us know if you wish your name to remain anonymous. You know that together we can do it!
